Sandra's mission is to ensure Edmonton Catholic Schools is a district of distinction.
A district that strives for educational excellence through continuous growth and stakeholder satisfaction, by fostering faith based learning that engages all staff and students.
With 30+ years in Edmonton Catholic Schools I have been blessed with a fulfilling career as an educator and administrator. For the past 3 years I worked at Alberta Education as a Senior Manager and was awarded the opportunity of looking at Education through a government lens. My recent experience in working at Alberta Education as a Senior Manager contributes to my skill set to serve as a Catholic School trustee.
As an Educational Leader with extensive school-based and Ministry of Education experience, I am confident in my ability to enhance educational excellence.
After a rewarding career with Edmonton Catholic I have decided to run as a School Board Trustee in Ward 72 with Edmonton Catholic to serve and support all staff, communities and most importantly students.
My broad-based experience as an educator has allowed me to engage with all stakeholders in developing strong working relationships which have shaped my vision as a leader and contributed in supporting the success of every student. I live in Ward 72 and was both a teacher and administrator at Archbishop O’Leary High School for over 25 years. I was the School Council Chair at St. Anne for 11 years and at St. Cecilia for 5 years. I served on Pastoral Council with the Archdiocese of Edmonton, was Vice-Chair of Parish Council at Santa Maria Goretti and served as a Board Director at the Community Centre. These are a few of the roles I have had over the years that will assist me in being able to serve as a trustee.
